Ellingham Lake has opened up again for open water swimming so it must officially be the start of the summer open water training season! The water temperature was quoted as 11º so it’s still quite fresh but warmer than the sea and warm enough to get in some meaningful distance.
Kimmeridge Bay is beautiful, and a perfect place to swim – a great place for just dipping or exploring or for a more serious training session. So when a “Beyond The Blue” Facebook event popped up on my news feed I needed very little encouragement.
The last couple of Sunday morning swims with friends from “Just Swim” at Fisherman’s Walk have probably been my coldest sea swims of the winter so far.
